With New York Fashion week due to kick off in 4 days there’s just time for a couture catchup.
Paris Couture week is one of the most glamorous events on the fashion calendar and last month was no exception with some of the world’s top designers presenting their spring 2016 couture collections. The collections of dreamy gowns from the likes of Ralph & Russo, Georges Hobeika, Zuhair Murad and Valentino were full of endless lace, stunning embellishments and over-the-top embroidery.
And if all that wasn’t enough, Chinese designer Guo Pei presented her first collection on the Paris catwalk. Guo, who has a background in costume dressing, didn’t disappoint with a selection of ball gowns, Fifties Sabrina dresses and sculpted minis with cropped boleros on top, all festooned with tassels, feathers and crystals. One thing is clear, day looks are so not Guo’s thing.
Here are my favourite pieces from the Parisian runway.
